The Cincinnati Bell Connector figured into 10 vehicular accidents and another four safety incidents since its on-street testing earlier this year.
One such victim of this kind of accident was Loveland resident Nick Haverkos, who was slowing his pickup truck in anticipation of the streetcar in his path. However, the two vehicles still collided, and Haverkos’ truck acquired a dent two feet long. It was also reported that streetcars have knocked off a mirror or scraped the side of cars parked too close to the lane of the streetcars. On November 1, a streetcar clipped both a Metro bus and a cement truck. Another Metro bus was struck on November 18.
